Lincoln Center gets transplant of ever-popular McNally-esque downtown joint. Has the look of an instant classic, with acres of white tile, roomy zinc bar. Interior crosses a French café with homegrown industrial chic, utilizing blackened steel, wire glass, and Art Deco accents. Much like the name, American brasserie cooking steers toward comfortable familiarity. Pork chops, brick-pressed chicken, “(not so) angry lobster.” We're fools for the caramelized Brussels sprouts. Expanded steak program differentiates this Smith from its sibs, as does massive outdoor seating area. Never sit through Le Nozze di Figaro sober again.
