Breezy, open corner. Oak-enhanced, always-packed vino spot. Get the signature eggs early, the varied cheeses in the afternoon, follow with a glass of well-priced Prosecco, and maybe stay for dinner while you're at it. Tendency to be full of a leisure class of trust funders and visiting Euros gorging on the weak dollar. Sidewalk tables ringside seats for the Ludlow circus and all its attendant clowns.

This tiny little wine bar on the Lower East Side packs a huge punch. While the focus here is on the wine, the food really shines. I love this place for a romantic date or a group of friends who all love to share food and wine.
